On this instalment Troy and Ben are joined by Simon Chen, executive driver come good, CEO and Founder of Eight Black, a Longmont, Colorado-based company that provides high-performance consulting services to CEOs as well as executive transportation and security solutions.
Simon discusses his time in the Australian Defence Force, working in the family business, transitioning into IT and consulting. He eventually relocates to the United States, where he married and settled in Colorado. Beginning with Uber Black in the early days, Simon then started his own local executive driver transportation company in Colorado which evolved globally to include Executive Protection and Consultancy as major aspects of the business operations. This is a great episode of how one Aussie saw a gap in the US market to grow a small local executive driver business into a Global Service provider.
The guys also talk about the importance of a great network of International Operators to assist your company abroad, having a discreet footprint and not ‘Branding Out’, armoured vehicles and more. Troy and Ben really enjoyed this conversation and it shows in when you listen to it.
